Term 3 - Week 3 Newsletter/Home Learning....

This week will be your second week of visiting the Colleges - good luck in making your mind up! Remember that the snow day payment and winter tournament money and return slip need to be in by next week at the latest (money only next week).
Great to hear of Jake, Storm and Patrick making the rugby reps, Sam and Nikau the soccer reps and Lydia the Top of the South Gymnastics team/competition.
Also it was fantastic to see the Intermediate boys and girls basketball teams in action last Monday at Saxton stadium - good luck this week.
Have a great week and work hard....

School Singing

Does anybody like singing? Then why not come around on Wednesday to join the whole school in singing! The songs we sang recently were the National Anthem, Down On The Corner and Tena Koutou.
Kynan.
SCHOOL SINGING

Today we did school singing, we sang Down on the Corner,The National Anthem and a new song called Tena koutou. We do singing every Wednesday and it is a good whole school activity.

KAPAHAKA

At the moment we are learning a new haka and a new song called Poi E. We practice every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at Fitness time. All the girls have to do the haka as well as the boys because we only have 11 boys and they won't be loud enough. But the lucky thing is that the girls don't have to do the actions.

Kapahaka 2010

On Monday and Tuesday mornings and Tuesday lunchtimes Mapua School students get together to practice Kapahaka. We are practicing because in week 9 there is a Kapahaka fun day in Motueka. The boys of the group are learning a new haka.

School Singing =)

Today was the first whole school singing this term. We started of with the national anthem and then we learned a new song. The new song was all about welcoming new students, staff and visitors to the school as the lyrics explain. Then we did 'down on the corner' where Room 7 showed us their groovy moves =). I hope when we get back into the singing again we will sound a lot better and professional! =p
